Up for sale is a stunning 1991 Gibson Les Paul Special Single Cut in classic TV Yellow, loaded with a pair of snarling P90 pickups that deliver everything from warm, woody cleans to raw, gritty bite.
This guitar has serious character. The overall condition is very good — no nicks, chips, or gouges — just honest, natural aging that gives it a true vintage feel. The lacquer checking (crazing) across the body has developed beautifully over time, closely resembling the finish wear you’d expect on an original mid-1950s example. It’s the kind of aging that relic builders try to replicate but rarely capture this authentically.
The headstock lacquer shows some peeling, purely cosmetic and in no way affecting stability or playability. Think of it as added mojo rather than a flaw — this guitar looks like it’s lived a life, because it has.
In terms of its build and features, this Les Paul Special carries all the hallmarks that make these instruments so sought after. The TV Yellow finish has mellowed gracefully with age, sitting perfectly over a solid mahogany body that gives the guitar its warm, resonant core and lightweight feel. The dual P90 pickups are the heart of its voice, offering a dynamic and expressive range that moves effortlessly from articulate cleans to rich midrange growl when pushed. The neck is comfortable and fast, making it equally at home for rhythm work or lead playing, while the overall construction remains solid and dependable throughout.
If you love the look and feel of a well-played vintage instrument but don’t want to spend Custom Shop money, this is a perfect fit. It’s got the tone, the vibe, and the story. Plug it in, and you’ll understand.
