Offered for sale is a charming and authentic vintage Meazzi “Amalfi” bowl-back mandolin, a fine example of mid-20th-century Italian craftsmanship in the traditional Neapolitan style. This instrument features the iconic rounded “bowl” back constructed from multiple finely joined wooden ribs, giving it both its distinctive appearance and its bright, resonant tone.
Inside, the original label reads “Liuteria MEAZZI – mandolino AMALFI”, confirming its origin and model. Meazzi instruments from this era were widely appreciated for offering accessible, well-built mandolins that captured the spirit of classic Italian design, making them popular with students, hobbyists, and folk musicians alike.
Structurally sound with no major damage, the original finish in good vintage condition, with light signs of age and use. Traditional oval soundhole with decorative rosette, original open-gear tuners with white buttons. Classic floating bridge and tailpiece. Comfortable neck and intact fingerboard, including the extension over the soundhole.
The instrument presents very well overall, with a clean, glossy bowl back and tidy construction throughout. It has clearly been looked after and remains a lovely example of its type.
While not a high-end luthier-built concert instrument, it delivers exactly what these vintage Italian mandolins are loved for: character, warmth, and a timeless aesthetic. Expect the classic bowl-back mandolin voice—bright, clear, and sweetly ringing, ideal for traditional folk music, classical mandolin repertoire and light ensemble or casual playing.
This is a genuine vintage Italian-style mandolin with plenty of charm and musical potential. Perfect for players seeking an affordable entry into traditional mandolin, or for collectors who appreciate the look and feel of classic bowl-back instruments.

BLUERIDGE Electrified Guitar-tuned 6 String Banjo
So far I have had little success in determining anything about the Blueridge brand of banjos, except that they may have been produced for the Blueridge Guitar Company during the last millenium. The Blueridge Guitar Company currently supplies instruments aimed at the budget end of the market. However, this instrument has had the addition of what appears to be a rather pricey Fishman Classic Series neodymium under-skin pickup, which implies that a previous owner thought enough of this banjitar to invest in it's amplification.

RM 5 String Left Hand Open Back Banjo
1960's John Grey / Rose Morris Long Neck
John Grey & Sons Ltd were acquired by Rose, Morris & Co. Ltd. who made banjos up to and after the second world war. From 1967, the company started selling it's own products and just use the trademark "R.M" from Rose Morris. Rose-Morris are today a large musical department store.
Long neck banjos are extremely versatile. They can be used for any kind of music, in more keys than are available in other banjos and the keys are available with the quick addition of a capo. Capoing a long neck banjo at the third fret, places the banjo in “G” tuning. Many long neck players keep capos on their long neck banjos at the third fret and then capo up OR down as the song might require.
